Description
Aster laevis 'Bluebird', commonly known as Smooth Aster, is a herbaceous perennial valued for its bright blue flowers during fall and summer. It typically matures 2–4 feet tall and 2–4 feet wide. Grow it in full sun to partial shade in moist, well-drained clay or loam soil. Its native range or documented parentage is Much of North America and parts of Mexico. Host plant for the Pearl Crescent butterfly. In the landscape, it works well in border, meadow, and naturalized area. Once established, it shows useful tolerance to drought.
