Description
Cryptomeria japonica 'Globosa Nana', commonly known as Dwarf Globe Japanese Cedar, is a woody evergreen conifer valued for its foliage, form, and structural presence. It typically matures 2–4 feet tall and 3–4 feet wide. Grow it in full sun to partial shade in moist, well-drained clay or loam soil. Its native range or documented parentage is Central & South Japan and China. Its dense branching can provide shelter and nesting cover for birds. In the landscape, it works well in border, foundation planting, and mass planting. Once established, it shows useful tolerance to deer, diseases, and drought.
Benefits
Gives the garden year-round structure, texture, and winter presence. A better candidate for landscapes with deer pressure than more browse-prone plants.
