Acer shirasawanum 'Aureum'

Acer shirasawanum 'Aureum', commonly known as Maple, is a woody landscape shrub valued for its red or burgundy flowers. It typically matures 3–12 feet tall and 3–10 feet wide. Grow it in partial shade in moist, well-drained clay or loam soil. Its native range or documented parentage is Japan. Members of the genus Acer support Imperial Moth (Eacles imperialis) larvae which have one brood per season and appear from April-October in the south. In the landscape, it works well in small tree, understory tree, and container. It has a slow growth rate and generally requires little routine maintenance.
