Picea glauca 'Conica'

Picea glauca 'Conica', commonly known as Dwarf Alberta Spruce, is a woody evergreen conifer valued for its brown or copper, gold or yellow, green, and red or burgundy flowers during spring and summer. It typically matures 40–60 feet tall and 10–20 feet wide. Grow it in full sun to partial shade in moist, well-drained garden soil. Its native range or documented parentage is Canada, northern United States. Deer, rabbits and grouse browse the foliage in winter In the landscape, it works well in barrier, hedge, and mass planting. Once established, it shows useful tolerance to deer, dry soil, and heat.

Gives the garden year-round structure, texture, and winter presence. A better candidate for landscapes with deer pressure than more browse-prone plants.
