Nandina domestica 'Gulf Stream'

Nandina domestica 'Gulf Stream', commonly known as Heavenly Bamboo, is a woody landscape shrub valued for its white flowers during spring. It typically matures 2–3 feet tall and 3–5 feet wide. Grow it in full sun to partial shade in moist, well-drained clay or loam soil. Its native range or documented parentage is Central and Southern China and Japan. Leaves are toxic to livestock and other domestic animals. In the landscape, it works well in border, hedge, and small groups. Once established, it shows useful tolerance to deer, drought, and salt.

Builds the middle layer of the garden, adding structure between perennials and trees. A better candidate for landscapes with deer pressure than more browse-prone plants.
