Description
Metasequoia glyptostroboides, commonly known as Dawn Redwood, is a woody tree or large shrub valued for its brown or copper flowers. It typically matures 62–100 feet tall and 15–25 feet wide. Grow it in full sun in moist, well-drained garden soil. Its native range or documented parentage is Central and western China. This tree provides winter cover for birds, small mammals and deer. In the landscape, it works well in specimen, street tree, and coastal. Once established, it shows useful tolerance to deer and wet soil.
