Liquidambar styraciflua 'Slender Silhouette'

Liquidambar styraciflua 'Slender Silhouette', commonly known as Slender Silhouette Sweetgum, is a woody tree or large shrub valued for its gold or yellow and green flowers during spring. It typically matures 50–60 feet tall and 5–6 feet wide. Grow it in full sun to partial shade in moist, well-drained clay or loam soil. Its native range or documented parentage is Eastern United States, Mexico. It supports Imperial Moth (Eacles imperialis) larvae which have one brood per season and appear from April-October in the south. In the landscape, it works well in accent, barrier, and border. Once established, it shows useful tolerance to deer, dry soil, and salt.

Provides seasonal color and texture and may support pollinators or other garden wildlife.
