Ilex verticillata 'Winter Red'

Ilex verticillata 'Winter Red', commonly known as Winterberry Holly Female, is a woody landscape shrub valued for its pairs with "southern gentleman" flowers during summer. It typically matures 6–8 feet tall and 6–8 feet wide. Grow it in full sun to partial shade in moist, well-drained clay or loam soil. Its native range or documented parentage is Eastern and central North America, from Newfoundland and Ontario south to Florida and Texas. Birds will eat the fruits In the landscape, it works well in hedge, specimen, and naturalized area. Once established, it shows useful tolerance to fire, pollution, and wet soil.
