Description
Juncus inflexus 'Blue Arrows', commonly known as Rush, is a clump-forming ornamental grass or sedge valued for its brown or copper and red or burgundy flowers during spring and summer. It typically matures 1–1.5 feet tall and 1–2 feet wide. Grow it in full sun to partial shade in moist, well-drained clay or loam soil. Its native range or documented parentage is Temperate Europe, Asia, Africa and Micronesia. Its flowers can provide seasonal forage for bees and other beneficial insects. In the landscape, it works well in small groups, container, and pond. Once established, it shows useful tolerance to urban conditions and wet soil.
Benefits
Adds texture and coverage to water gardens or consistently wet containers. A better candidate for landscapes with deer pressure than more browse-prone plants. Useful for solving damp, wet, or pond-edge planting conditions.
