Description
Carex rosea is a clump-forming ornamental grass or sedge valued for its green to brown flowers. It typically matures 3–12 inches tall and 0.5–3 feet wide. Grow it in full sun to partial shade in moist to occasionally wet, well-drained garden soil. Its native range or documented parentage is Mid-Atlantic and Piedmont region of eastern North America. Its flowers can provide seasonal forage for bees and other beneficial insects. In the landscape, it works well in mass plantings, meadows, and mixed borders. It performs best where the root zone does not dry out for extended periods.
