Description
Astilbe x rosea 'Peach Blossom', commonly known as False Spirea, is a herbaceous perennial valued for its light peachy pink flowers. It typically matures 1.5–3 feet tall and 1.5–2.5 feet wide. Grow it in full sun to partial shade in average, well-drained garden soil. Its native range or documented parentage is cultivated hybrid of Astilbe species native to eastern Asia. Its flowers can provide seasonal forage for bees and other beneficial insects. In the landscape, it works well in mixed borders, mass plantings, and pollinator gardens. Good siting and appropriate moisture help maintain its best form through the season.
Benefits
Creates an early-season lift after winter with fresh color and growth. Brings more movement to the garden by drawing butterflies and other pollinators. A better candidate for landscapes with deer pressure than more browse-prone plants.
