Description
Aster macrophyllus, commonly known as Bigleaf Aster, is a herbaceous perennial valued for its light purple flowers during fall and summer. Grow it in partial to deep shade in moist, well-drained clay or loam soil. Flowers are attractive to butterflies. In the landscape, it works well in small groups, naturalized area, and walkways. A perfect ground cover for shade, it has a moderate growth rate and generally requires little routine maintenance.
