Tilia americana 'Redmond'

Tilia americana 'Redmond', commonly known as American Linden or Basswood, is a woody tree or large shrub valued for its cream or tan and gold or yellow flowers during spring and summer. It typically matures 60–80 feet tall and 30–60 feet wide. Grow it in full sun to partial shade in moist, well-drained clay or loam soil. Its native range or documented parentage is Central and eastern North America. It provides nectar for pollinators and is a larval host plant for Eastern Tiger Swallowtail (Papilio glaucus). In the landscape, it works well in screen/privacy, shade tree, and specimen. Once established, it shows useful tolerance to drought, dry soil, and fire.
