Panicum virgatum 'Totem Pole'

Panicum virgatum 'Totem Pole', commonly known as Switch Grass, is a clump-forming ornamental grass or sedge valued for its gold or yellow, pink, purple or lavender, and red or burgundy flowers during fall, summer, and winter. It typically matures 3–7 feet tall and 2–3 feet wide. Grow it in full sun to partial shade in moist, well-drained sandy or loamy soil. Its native range or documented parentage is Warm-temperate and tropical regions worldwide; switchgrass is native across much of North America. It provides excellent cover year round. In the landscape, it works well in accent, border, and mass planting. Once established, it shows useful tolerance to black walnut, deer, and drought.

Provides seasonal color and texture and may support pollinators or other garden wildlife.
