Description
Delosperma 'Ocean Sunset Violet', commonly known as Ice Plant, is a herbaceous perennial valued for its pinky purple w or yellow center flowers during fall and summer. It typically matures 1–3 inches tall and 12 inches wide. Grow it in full sun in average to occasionally dry, well-drained sandy or loamy soil. Its native range or documented parentage is Africa, Saudi Arabia, Yemen. Its flowers or fruit attract bees and butterflies. In the landscape, it works well in border, container, and hanging baskets. Once established, it shows useful tolerance to drought and heat.
Benefits
Brings more movement to the garden by drawing butterflies and other pollinators. A better candidate for landscapes with deer pressure than more browse-prone plants.
