Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Graciosa'

Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Graciosa', commonly known as Hinoki Falsecypress, is a woody evergreen conifer valued for its foliage, form, and structural presence. It typically matures 50–75 feet tall and 10–25 feet wide. Grow it in full sun to partial shade in moist, well-drained clay or loam soil. Its native range or documented parentage is Formosa, Japan. Its dense branching can provide shelter and nesting cover for birds. In the landscape, it works well in specimen, meadow, and recreational play area. It has a medium growth rate and generally requires little routine maintenance.

Gives the garden year-round structure, texture, and winter presence. A better candidate for landscapes with deer pressure than more browse-prone plants.
