Description
Saururus cernuus, commonly known as Lizard's Tail, is a herbaceous perennial valued for its white flowers during spring and summer. It typically matures 1–4 feet tall and 1–2 feet wide. Grow it in full sun to partial shade in moist, well-drained clay or loam soil. Its native range or documented parentage is North American (eastern). It provides cover for wood ducks. In the landscape, it works well in coastal, container, and naturalized area. Once established, it shows useful tolerance to deer, diseases, and heavy shade.
