Description
Hosta 'Halcyon', commonly known as Hosta, is a herbaceous perennial valued for its blue green foliage flowers during summer. It typically matures 1.5–2 feet tall and 2.5–3 feet wide. Grow it in partial to deep shade in moist, well-drained loamy soil. Its native range or documented parentage is Northeastern Asia, especially Japan, Korea, China, and the Russian Far East. Flowers attract hummingbirds and songbirds. In the landscape, it works well in border, mass planting, and small groups. Once established, it shows useful tolerance to black walnut and heavy shade.
