Daphne odora 'Aureomarginata'

Daphne odora 'Aureomarginata', commonly known as Daphne, is a woody landscape shrub valued for its pink, purple or lavender, and white flowers during spring and winter. It typically matures 3–6.5 feet tall and 2–4 feet wide. Grow it in full sun to partial shade in moist, well-drained loamy soil. Its native range or documented parentage is South China to Vietnam and Taiwan. Bees are attracted to the nectar and pollen and butterflies, moths, and flies are attracted to the nectar in this winter flowering shrub. In the landscape, it works well in foundation planting, specimen, and container. Once established, it shows useful tolerance to deer and salt.

Builds the middle layer of the garden, adding structure between perennials and trees. Supports a more active, living garden with flowers that pollinators can use. A better candidate for landscapes with deer pressure than more browse-prone plants.
