Description
Amsonia hubrichtii 'Butterscotch', commonly known as Blue Star, is a herbaceous perennial valued for its blue and white flowers during spring. It typically matures 2–3 feet tall and 2–3 feet wide. Grow it in full sun to partial shade in moist, well-drained clay or loam soil. Its native range or documented parentage is Arkansas to Oklahoma. Flowers attract butterflies. In the landscape, it works well in accent, border, and mass planting. Once established, it shows useful tolerance to deer.
Benefits
