Description
Schizachyrium scoparium 'Standing Ovation', commonly known as Little Bluestem, is a clump-forming ornamental grass or sedge valued for its blue-green and purple flowers during fall and summer. It typically matures 2–4 feet tall and 1.5–3 feet wide. Grow it in full sun in moist, well-drained clay or loam soil. Its native range or documented parentage is Eastern North America. It provides excellent cover year round. In the landscape, it works well in border, mass planting, and container. Once established, it shows useful tolerance to black walnut, deer, and diseases.
