Description
Heuchera 'Tokyo', commonly known as Coral bells, is a herbaceous perennial valued for its green with red flowers flowers during summer. It typically matures 0.5–1.67 feet tall and 0.5–1.67 feet wide. Grow it in full sun to partial shade in moist, well-drained garden soil. Its native range or documented parentage is Russia Far East and North America. Tannin in the leaves is unappetizing to deer and rabbits. In the landscape, it works well in border, mass planting, and small groups. Once established, it shows useful tolerance to deer and rabbits.
Benefits
Creates an early-season lift after winter with fresh color and growth. Brings movement to the garden by drawing hummingbirds and other flower visitors. A better candidate for landscapes with deer pressure than more browse-prone plants.
