Description
Hydrangea macrophylla 'Tuxedo', commonly known as Bigleaf Hydrangea, is a woody landscape shrub valued for its red flowers during summer. It typically matures 3–6 feet tall and 3–6 feet wide. Grow it in partial to deep shade in moist, well-drained clay or loam soil. Its native range or documented parentage is Japan, China, Korea and Southeast Asia;. Dead stems are used by stem-nesting bees. In the landscape, it works well in accent, foundation planting, and hedge. Once established, it shows useful tolerance to salt.
