Polemonium boreale 'Heavenly Habit', commonly known as Jacob's Ladder, is a herbaceous perennial valued for its violet purple flowers during summer. It typically matures 10–12 inches tall and 1–2 feet wide. Grow it in full sun to partial shade in moist, well-drained clay or loam soil. Its native range or documented parentage is High Arctic. It attracts butterflies and hummingbirds. In the landscape, it works well in border, mass planting, and small groups. Once established, it shows useful tolerance to deer, diseases, and insect pests.

Brings more movement to the garden by drawing butterflies and other pollinators. A better candidate for landscapes with deer pressure than more browse-prone plants.
