Lagerstroemia 'Muskogee'

Lagerstroemia 'Muskogee', commonly known as Crapemyrtle, is a woody landscape shrub valued for its purple flowers during spring and summer. It typically matures 3–20 feet tall and 3–20 feet wide. Grow it in full sun in moist, well-drained clay or loam soil. Its native range or documented parentage is Tropical and subtropical Asia, India, Northern Australia. Food plant of some moth and butterfly larvae. In the landscape, it works well in accent, flowering tree, and small tree. Once established, it shows useful tolerance to drought and pollution.

Adds long-term structure, shade, and a sense of permanence to the landscape. Keeps beds lively through the main outdoor season. Supports a more active, living garden with flowers that pollinators can use. A better candidate for landscapes with deer pressure than more browse-prone plants.

Summer flowers and exfoliating bark; purple flowers mid-summer; orange, red or yellow fall color; matures about 8 - 25 ft tall and 6 - 15 ft wide
