Description
Astilbe x arendsii 'Erika', commonly known as Astilbe, is a herbaceous perennial valued for its pink flowers during fall, spring, and summer. It typically matures 1.5–4.5 feet tall and 1–2 feet wide. Grow it in full sun to partial shade in moist, well-drained loamy soil. Its native range or documented parentage is Asia, hybrid origin. It attracts butterflies In the landscape, it works well in accent, border, and mass planting. Once established, it shows useful tolerance to black walnut, deer, and heavy shade.
