Thymus serpyllum 'Elfin'

Thymus serpyllum 'Elfin', commonly known as Thymus serpyllum, is a herbaceous perennial valued for its light purple flowers during spring. It typically matures 1–3 inches tall and 1–1.5 feet wide. Grow it in full sun to partial shade in average to occasionally dry, well-drained loamy soil. Its native range or documented parentage is Northern Europe, Western Asia, and Northern Africa. Host plant to the common blue butterfly and the large blue butterfly. In the landscape, it works well in border, container, and rock wall. Once established, it shows useful tolerance to drought and foot traffic.

Provides seasonal color and texture and may support pollinators or other garden wildlife.
