Platycodon grandiflorus 'Sentimental Blue', commonly known as Balloon Flower, is a herbaceous perennial valued for its blue flowers during spring and summer. It typically matures 1–2 feet tall and 1–1.5 feet wide. Grow it in full sun to partial shade in average, well-drained loamy soil. Its native range or documented parentage is China, Korea, Japan, Russia. Its flowers can provide seasonal forage for bees and other beneficial insects. In the landscape, it works well in accent, border, and small groups. It has a moderate growth rate and generally requires little routine maintenance.

Brings more movement to the garden by drawing butterflies and other pollinators. A better candidate for landscapes with deer pressure than more browse-prone plants.
